WHAT MOM IS ABOUT

MOM is an inclusive, friendly exercise program, which has been specifically tailored for those in the 60+ age group who want to improve their health and fitness. The sessions offer a range of equipment and activities. Exercises allow you to participate at varying levels, from mild to the more challenging and are undertaken with a partner, in a group and independently. MOM caters for a wide range of abilities, from those starting out to those with more experience.
The classes will give you a full body workout focusing on stretching, balance and flexibility, strength and light cardio exercises.


WHO IT’S FOR

MOM is for people who want to join a class that allows for varying levels in a non-gym environment.
Exercises are introduced so that each participant can take part at the level that best suits their ability at the time. This ‘building block’ approach demonstrates what is possible so that you can set goals and work towards them as well as for reflecting on your achievements.
Each person’s choice as to what they participate in is valued. You are the best barometer of your body.


WHY MOM IS GOOD

MindOverMattress has been a platform for health and fitness in the broadest sense. Most people have come to MOM via word of mouth; people who share common interests and activities such as walking groups, bridge, bike riding, grandparenting and book groups; some people have walked in from the street. Friendships have been made.
Connecting with other people while looking after your physical health in a friendly, supportive and welcoming environment is central to MOM.
The venue in Hawthorn is an ideal settings, warm in winter and cool in summer, a good size for what we do and importantly close to very good post-exercise coffee venues!
Parking in the street is adequate.
